Convertible BMW 850 (E31)
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
Interior at bottom of page still available.

BMW 850 Ci, 5 litre V12 power, and one of the most expensive BMW’s ever, with most models costing between £60,000 and £90,000 when new - in the 1990s that would have bought a house!!!!.
The huge and incredibly smooth 300 plus Bhp V12 engine is a marvel, and the cars were electronically limited to 155mph, although this one is not!! If you are brave they do around 185 with no engine mods!!!!!
Vertually all cars were automatics, but with this power and torque that is not an issue. The handling is unbeleivable - this car does things that should not be possible.
This superb car was made into a convertible for a customer, whom then ran out of money. Keonig in Europe used to chagre £57,000 to make these wonderful cars into convertibles.

Still runs (out of a can - needs new fuel pump), and almost everything still seems to work - air con needs recharging, and it needs finishing.
This car could easily be put back on the road, and just needs some tidying, and a roof, or it would break for spares. The car is LHD, and is probably the sexiest and best BMW model ever made.
The only thing in the pictures on this car thats not included is the door cards which are part of the interior and has been removed.
The panels on these cars cost a furtune new, and this car would easily break for £3000 in parts before you even thing about the engine/box/computers/electronics,,,,,,Even the wheels are worth the starting price on their own, and yes they do fit other BMW’s.

This superb car could easily be put back on the road, and with the value of these cars that is actually still worth doing. Its been sat for a while, but everything except the air con and fuel pump still works. Ideal project car or a donor for a kitcar, or else to repair a damaged BMW 850 or 840.
Make a sensible offer - building work means I dont have the space to store this car. P.S.:- still have the roof!!
The 840 and 850 are pretty rare cars with only 33,000 odd being made over a period of around 10 years, so you may be forgiven for not having seen one. they are sensational looking, and even better to drive. Below you can see examples of cars before conversion, and an examples in red and blue of what this car could look like if finished.

Open to sensible offers for this super car project. Note - the blue car in the top 7 pictures is the one for sale, but you could easily convert it into something very like the cars in these bottom pictures.
ADDITIONAL INFO IN RESPONCE TO QUESTIONS RAISED.
The mileage on the clock shows 61,000 miles (98,000km) and it is actually a 1992 vehicle, imported from Germany I believe, and issued with a J registration in 1998 when it was registered in the UK. A registration document would be easy to obtain if required, but is not included in the auction, although I will be happy to help or make the application myself if the winning bidder requires (subject to dvla fee)
The door cards are not included as they are part of the interior, although the full interior is available should the winning bidder wish to make an offer, and put the vehicle back on the road.
I do have the metal roof (several people have asked) but a piece is missing and I am not sure if its a viable job to put the roof back on as its quite a lot of work. It is missing the rear screen which is likely to be very expensive, although I do have the sunroof somewhere, and if I find it by the time it is collected I will be happy to include it.
In order to put this on the road as a convertible, it needs some bodywork to finish the sharp edges where the roof has been removed, and the canvass roof, which can be as complex as a full folding frame (we got an E36 cover/frame for that purpose) or a more simple design. We also considered a folding metal roof, and these are available from numerous cars second hand these days. The chassis is absolutely straight and the door gaps mm perfect – most modern cars are not as accurate as this and the doors open and close even if parked on a hill. It also drives very well as a convertible, although I would add a brace under the engine as per Mercedes and Jaguar if it were used as a convertible on UK roads.
In regards to the engines these M70B50 units were all Alusil so none of the Nikasil worries that you have with the 840, version. These cars are the first I have ever seen to use fly-by-wire throttles now common on all MINI’s and many other cars.
The gearbox has S, E and M modes and goes into all three. The traction turns on and off, and everything except the air con seems to work, although I have not necessarily checked everything 100%.
The E31 is an incredibly rare vehicle with only about 30,000 vehicles made in total, between 1990 and 1999. The bulk of these (20,000) were 850Ci’s, which is very rare indeed. The engines are perfect for Lamborghini replicas, as the engine can look very similar to the real thing.
The interior is not included in the ebay auction, but I have had quite a number of questions about it, and requests for pictures. It has been stored out of the car and is a little grubby, but would come up very well with some cleaning, and some use. The leather is cream and the front seats have blue piping. If used for a kitcar or such then the front seats are awesome (£2000 plus each last time we checked) and have the seatbelts built in.

As you can see thise front seat is a little grubby, and ruffled. This will clean easily, and the leather will recover with use. No wear to the bolsters as you often find with seats.

This interior will be offered for sale to the winning bidder first, and then if not required will be listed on ebay. This is the best colour interior for any 840 or 850, and the seats are very comfortable.
Mercedes SLR.
One thing about this car - its very similar in dimensions to the Mclaren SLR supercar, and we did at one point consider making this into a replica - the wheelbase is almost identical, and a body easy (although time consuming and around £15000 in labour to produce). If someone bought the car with this in mind then I would be willing to produce the bodywork for such.
Completion.
I have been asked by a number of people about completing various parts of the car including mostly the hood and/or hood frame. I would be willing to carry out this work if required, or to offer advice for such, and can provide prices to anyone who wins the non-reserve auction.
It must be understood that this car is being sold as we need space for re-development work and no other. If you have any further questions then please let me know.
